ABsolute Gravel
Absolute Gravel is a musical composition system developed by Blake Opper and Emre Sardogan for the purpose of creating site-specific musical compositions. Every element of these compositions is derived directly from the site including pitch sets, thematic material, and the layout the scores themselves. In performance the score is recreated on the ground using ropes. Musicians are instructed to move through the physical rendering of the graphic score while playing the musical elements dictated in the score. Video documentation of performances is also site specific and is developed in tandem with the score. The camera used for documentation is always a (Model/brand) as a means of creating a stylized visual aesthetic akin to street skating videos of the early 2000's.
